Restobox Marketing App Account Required
- Please ensure you are logged into https://app.restobox.com first before attempting this tutorial.
- If you do not have an account, please contact your account manager.
- If you forgot your password, click the link above, then “Forgot Password” to recover your password.
Import New and Update Existing Contacts
- In the left menu, click Contacts to open your contact list.
- At the top of the Contacts page, click the Import Contacts icon to begin uploading your contact list.
- Click Upload a file, then select the CSV file saved on your computer. Once uploaded, click Next to continue.
- Fix the Map columns in your file to contact field properties.
- For example, select Phone from the dropdown menu for phone numbers.
- Make sure to check the box that says “Don’t import data in unmatched columns” to avoid uploading unnecessary information.
- Once done, click Next to continue.
- Rename your Import Name to something meaningful, so it’s easier to identify later.
- Then, click Advanced to view more import options.
- Click Advanced to access more import settings.
- Then select Add New and Update Existing Contact Records to make sure the system adds new contacts and updates any that already exist.
- If all contacts in your CSV have email addresses, you can leave the setting as “Find existing contacts based on (Primary): Email”. This ensures duplicates are matched correctly using the email field.
- If some contacts don’t have emails but do have phone numbers, you can add a secondary matching rule.
- Click + Add Second Preference?
- Then select Phone from the dropdown menu as the backup field to match existing records.
- Add a tag to label your import for easy tracking later.
- Check the box to confirm you have permission to email the contacts.
- Click Submit to complete the import process.
- Go to the Bulk Actions tab to see the results of your import. You’ll be able to check how many contacts were created, updated, or had errors during the process.
